Bought SpeedPlay Pedals From Us This Year? Free Service

Friday, September 10th, 2010

We’d like to let you know that we think you are super.  A full season of charity rides, racing and rolling around the province, country and all over Europe.  We also know you are riding with what we consider the best pedals in the world, Speedplay, and we want to make sure that they work problem free into the Fall and next year.

So you are invited to bring your bike (and pedals) by the shop for a free bearing service.  It’ll only take about 5 minutes for us to squish some new grease in and then you will be on your way.  No need to fret, this is just normal service.

Let us know when you are coming in, but even if you just want to swing by when you are out for a ride that is okay too!

Yours,

Paul, Marshall, James, Steve, Isaac & MB

Anthony Finds a Mud Solution – We Implement

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Just a few days ago Anthony asked about the possibility of running his RD shifter cable  housing from the the last boss on the top tube all the way down to the derailleur as described here: http://cxmagazine.com/gutwrenching-mechanical-mondays-custom-cable-housing-solution

So out came the drill, I modified the frame and ran the housing all the way down.  A little filing cleaned up the burrs and when I ran the cable through it was held snuggly by the modified bosses.  I made one small modification to the CX magazine’s instructions:  I taped the cable to the seat stay to prevent anything (like a heel or tree branch) from catching the housing and mucking things up (zip ties did not look as good).  Shifting is also just as smooth as before.
