Power Training at the CycleOps Studio
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010In October, the shop will be launching a new training service for goal oriented athletes, triathletes and road racers and anyone who wants to implement a concientous cycling specific fitness program. More details about the classes, fee schedule and training leaders are to come, but we would like to let you know about our power training tool and why we chose it over every other device currently available in the market.
Power training is becoming widely adopted by pros and amateurs alike as the next step in training smart. Training smart means monitoring performance during a workout and also reviewing information post-workout to either adjust your plan or validate your apporach with your coach and trainer. For these reason, we decided to go with one of the only tools that gives you access to training information, the CycleOps Powerbeam Pro.
In Workout Data: The Powerbeam Pro is both an ergometer and a power meter, with a wireless personal readout that gives you critical information during your workout. Not only do you set the resistance, but you also get to see in realtime and without the need for a laptop computer, exactly what you are putting out. Set 300 watts and watch the number!
Post Workout Data: With the use of the POWERAGENT software, the wireless head unit of the Powerbeam Pro lets riders create custom workouts as well as download workout data. No more walking around with a pencil and a notebook jotting down a few stats after a workout, and should you want to know what was going on at the 30 minute mark when you felt like you were towing quintuplets down a gravel road, the information is there. Users of Garmin or ANT+ devices can also take that information home and download it into the software of their choice.
