Job Posting – Sales and Cycling Consultant

Overview: When a customer walks into the shop, you ask yourself, “what can I do to make sure that nothing is in the way of them being on their bike”? You are at the front of the shop, making first contact with cyclists and working to eliminate obstacles to performance and enjoyment on the bike.

Work: Sales including processing transactions. Bike sizing, fitting, soft-goods selection, recommendations for equipment upgrades as well as consulting on riding in general. Inventory management, coordinating orders with the repair bench. Interacting with customers via traditional channels and social media.  Riding your bike.

Remuneration: Market rate.  Part-Time to Full Time Hours

October Gear Swap – 12-5PM October 9

Second annual gear swap, open to all.  This is a great opportunity to move some of the stuff in your parts bin and to make a little money.   ONE DAY SHOP SALE as well; 25% off in stock bikes and everything in the shop.

Rules for Buyers

  • Open to all
  • Come early for the best selection
  • Prices are as marked
  • Payment can be made with debit or credit
  • No returns, exchanges or haggling.  Swapper will price fairly

Rules for Sellers

  • Restricted to club members who have paid their membership
  • Box your stuff up
  • Price it fairly.  Use ebay and craigslist to set your prices.  This is a no-haggle day
  • Prepare a list of the items and the price you are charging for it.  The shop will receive the items into the inventory system
  • Sellers can drop stuff off the Friday before or at 11AM on Saturday.  We suggest the Friday before.
  • The shop will charge the seller 8.5% for everything sold (8.5 cents on the dollar).  This covers the cost of the inventory system and bank fees so purchasers can buy with debit or credit.  Plus something to help support Paul’s bourbon habit.
  • Cheques will be written for all sales, less the service charge on the following Tuesday.
  • Any parts left behind at the end of the swap meet will be considered abandooned and added to the shop parts bin
