M3 Racer & Want to Race the Queen’s Park Grand Prix?
20 days from now, the Queen’s Park Grand Prix returns to the streets of Toronto. We’re putting together a a race that will be great for cyclists and for spectators. If you are thinking about racing the Master Men’s race (8:30 AM start, 1st – $500, 2nd – $350, 3rd – $150 and $300 to the winning team, free Hincapie jersey to the first 100 registered) but do not currently hold a M1 or M2 licence from the Ontario Cycling Association there is still a way for you to race. Here are your steps:
- Download this form: http://www.ontariocycling.org/web_doc/mem_forms/upgrade_form.pdf
- Send in the form this week for consideration by the Ontario Cycling Association
- Based on a combination of experience (more than 1 year) and results (consistent in the field, not many DNFs) the upgrade committee will review the app and will notify you of their deliberations.
For racers from outside of the province who are interested in racing, a UCI licence is required. US based racers can check here for more info: http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=2727, Quebec based racers can check here: http://www.fqsc.net/general/achat-de-licence
