2011 Flyers Racing Team and Cycling Club
Since 2008, the Dark Horse Flyers racing team and club have been at the front of competitive and development cycling in Ontario. Through the participation of its members, we continue to push our limits in bike racing, triathlon and charity rides.
DH FLYERS CLUB – How to Join the Club
The club is intended for road or mountain bikers and triathletes and is open to people who are beginners (but have been spinning/running/swimming and so have a decent fitness level) and racers. We are an OCA affiliated club.
Both men and women are welcome. Our group rides are organized based on ability, ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable and safe time on the road. Membership is paid directly to the Ontario Cycling Association, 15% discount on fit and testing services and parts at the shop. Discounted rates for special events and clinics, team kit and always free race day support. Membership is $55, or a UCI licence or proof of payment with another OCA affiliated club. More questions? Email “flyers @ hellovelo.ca” (without the spaces of course!).
Riders must read and agree to our Risk Management Plan. PLEASE ALSO READ THESE IMPORTANT NOTES.
Beginner Group:
You have a reasonable level of fitness and may be targeting your first ever long charity ride. You are looking for a group that will help you build your strength and skills as a cyclist. No rockets, no egos, just a great group of people who love to ride.
Masters Group
You have been cycling for a while and need some disciplined training to develop fitness and skills. You are racing this year or are doing some longer charity rides and you want to be quick and comfortable. Faster than the beginner group but still safe and focused on developing fitness over the season. Should you feel the urge to go on a break from the group, we’ll let you go.
Elite Group
You have a UCI race licence, race in Master 2, Senior 2, Expert or higher. You are dedicated to your training and know that safe riding will get you to the start line ready to race. Riders at lower levels may request to join this group; riders who do not race are not permitted.
